“Money” Mayweather Backs Ronda Rousey to “Bounce Back” from Defeat

Rousey-and-Mayweather

World boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. has offered some encouraging advice to former UFC Bantamweight Woman’s Champion Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey – “This is not the end of the world”.

The 29-year-old UFC fighter has suffered back-to-back losses in devastating fashion against Holly Holm and more recently against current World Champion Amanda Nunez in just “48 seconds” by way of ‘MAULING’. Things have not been looking so good for the American, who made the women’s division her own due to her sheer dominance and style of fighting in the Octagon. Ronda Rousey was a force to be reckoned with.

Not too long ago, every women fighter in the world idolized Rowdy, but now thinks are quite different. There are rumors Ronda might announce her retirement from the sport and pursue other careers in the entertainment industry like Hollywood or WWE (where even fake wrestling doesn’t want a ‘broken’ Rousey).

In spite of all these rumors, the (49-0) boxing legend doesn’t want her to quit but come back to the drawing board and work on her game and “bounce back” stronger than ever before. “I don’t want her to think this is the end of the world,” Mayweather said. “She’s hearing it from the best. She’ll be okay. Ronda Rousey, hold your head up. You’re still a true champion in our eyes. You made women’s MMA huge, so stay focused, go back to the drawing board and do what you gotta do.”

“I think her losing had a lot to do with time off. She maybe should have competed against another female MMA fighter that wasn’t as active as the female that she faced. I think the female that she faced was rugged and tough. The girl Ronda Rousey faced was a tough competitor. She was the better woman that night. But Ronda Rousey has a lot left.”

“I want Ronda Rousey to hold your head up, stay focused and keep believing. A true champion can bounce back — you’ll be okay. Everything will be okay.”

The undefeated boxer is also in the news lately for publicly announcing his plans to face UFC’s prized fighter Conor McGregor in a boxing ring. He is willing to offer “The Notorious” $15 million dollars plus small chunk of pay-per-view money, if he agrees to fight him.

If this happens it will surely be the biggest news in boxing and MMA, and a fight worth watching – but you know what else would be big news and worth watching? How about another comeback Rousey? Maybe without her dirtbag coach Traverdyan.
