Amir Khan is ready to fight Mexican superstar, Saul Canelo Alvarez, for WBC middleweight title in Las Vegas on May 7.
In an astonishing move, welterweight contender Amir Khan and middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez confirmed a deal to bout for Alvarez’s world title on May 7 this Tuesday, Golden Boy Promotions announced.
This announcement on Tuesday came up with a surprise and the fight seems to be one of the most awaited among the boxing fights.
The deal made without being leaked will take place at Alvarez’s contract weight of 155 pounds – five pounds below the middleweight limit and one above junior middleweight limit.
On the other hand, it is accommodation for Amir Khan – former unified junior welterweight title holder who has been a contender in 147 pound welterweight division since 2014.
The site has not been set yet but is likely to take place at the new 20,000-seat- T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It is the first boxing bout going to take place at this site. The fight seems to draw a huge crowd and Amir Khan is likely to have a great support from British guys.
Khan has a great name and good skills and is fully ready to fight Canelo.
