Kickfit-tre-em3

If you are looking for your kids to get in shape, there is nothing better than a punch bag. Get them a quality punch bag and train with them. This is one of the best ways to spend some quality time with your kids. It also develops footwork, punching power and techniques and stamina.

Best thing about teaching your kid how to use a punching bag is that you don’t actually need a purpose. You can go to the gym or if you have a punching bag in your home, use it to throw couple of punches and have some fun. If your kids show more interest in the sport then you can take training to the next level.

So what do you need for the training?

You just require a punching bag, a positive mindset and 15-20 minutes of your time.

  • Warm-Up with Jump Rope Exercise

Remember! Always start workout with a proper warm-up exercise. The best warm-up without getting your kids to get bored is a jump rope. Children love this exercise and they can do it for 5-10 minutes, if they want it more don’t stop them.

After the workout give them a couple of minutes rest.

  • Jab and Cross

This is the first part of the workout that involves a combination of a jab and a cross. This is a very simple routine for kids and they will easily adapt to it. If you are training them to be more serious advise them to always maintain their guard. Ideally throw a punch from one hand and use other hand to guard and vice versa.

  • Footwork

Tell your kids to always keep moving while they are punching the heavy bag using their bag gloves. This will develop a good habit. Place you heavy bag where your kids can easily move around it and throw punches. If the bag is in one corner it will restrict their movement.

Perform both these workout steps 5-10 minutes each, if your kid is enjoying it, give him/her more time.

After the workout, spar with your kid, this will be even more fun for both of you. If will relax both of you mentally after a tough workout session.
